Problem Child, included in George F. Walker's most recent collection of plays, Suburban Motel, won a Chalmers Award for Best New Play in Toronto, and has a proven track record of sell-out runs and critical acclaim in New York, San Francisco, Washington, Vancouver and Toronto, among many other North American cities.

Denise is a wild and drug-scarred young mother, desperate to regain the child she has lost to social services, after being deemed an unfit parent. RJ is the Jerry Springer-obsessed, ex-con boyfriend who has turned his life around in an effort to help win their child back, but is it too late? Phillie is the motel's alcoholic janitor, a Drano-drinking life's loser with a vacuum, who only gets one chance to make everything right - but will it all end in just another dismal failure? And Helen is the upright and uptight social worker who holds all the cards - with the child's destiny in her hands - or at least she thinks she does, until she suddenly finds herself in way over her depth...
